Hi, I'm Kate De Groote

Community

At the center of the IOP is our community. We are all of different backgrounds and different interests but we come together due to our love for public service. I plan to improve community even further by helping everyone, regardless of ideology or background feel welcome here. This will include greater support for FGLI students and students of color.

Creativity

Creativity represents my plan for communications at the IOP. I plan to utlize different forms of media to create more interactive content and highlight the IOP Programs who are doing incredibly innovative work you might not know about. I want to use communications to show just how incredible students at the IOP are.

Collaboration

The IOP can fall into the trap of being disjointed among our 15 programs, so I plan on increasing funding and time towards inter-program programming. I also plan to collaborate outside of the IOP with local organizations and affinity groups to increase the number of students the IOP reaches and help students make a difference outside of Harvard.

Career

So much of the support at the IOP focuses on opportunities during college. However, we are have many different hopes and plans for the future, so I will increase support for seniors going into the public sector and students hoping to go to grad or law school. I will also prioritize term-time internships and a winternship program.
